Ben Scheffler a.k.a. his producer alter ego Axis Nemesis, has been knee in electronic music for the past seven years. Shortly after attending the first of many raves held in the dark recesses of Austin, Texas.

Ben was so moved by the whole experience, that he decided that electronic music was part of his destiny.

Not long after he had acquired his first pieces of gear and started collaborating with long time partner Kevin Lynch to form the group Trip Wire. Ben has often joined forces with one Texas’ finest producers Roger Williams, to forge original Trip Wire tracks that herald new standards in trance production. Existing as both a live performance act and an outlet for studio tracks, Trip Wire shows no signs of stopping as a continuing project that’s musical diversity is ever evolving. Ben’s other longtime musical project, a neo-industrial band named Cat of Nine Tails, gives him a time to explore his darker side of production and a chance to innovate new studio methods.

Not limiting himself to only music Ben has enjoyed a successful run as a
designer for the electronic underground. Developing a large portfolio over just 3 years he maintained steady work designing flyers for local rave and club events around the state. The majority of his work was done as head designer for System 7, an Austin based record store and production crew.

Recently Ben has setup Headgear Studios with partner Kevin not only as a home base for Trip Wire and other projects, but as a growing nerve center
for collaboration with other Texas talent. Currently Ben has been spending studio time with the likes of hard house and two step DJ, Bishop and rising star house producer Sifter, as well as a host of local DJ’s that find their way to the north Austin home based studio. Ben often makes the short trip to Roger Williams studio in San Marcos, Texas to act as co-producer on a host of widely varied projects. Ben continues to work hard to ensure that the music that inspired him will evolve to inspire the next generation of listeners.
