Laser Synaesthesia

Laser Synaesthesia was formed in July, 2001 in San Marcos, Texas, by laser artist Tim Walsh working with producer Roger Williams and brother Dave supplying digital music , and Rob Hybrid providing digital video.

These ideas include the direct generation of audio signals from the computer used to create the laser show, and the control of both the laser and the audio via MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface).

The goal of Laser Synaesthesia is that the audience will see exactly what they are hearing; that every audio event will be linked to a corresponding visual event.

Practice sessions at Walsh's laser studio soon proved that the concept was viable; recent performances by the group in Austin (Mad Hatter's Tea Party) and New Orleans (Zoolu All-Stars) showed that audiences will respond to this new hybrid art form.

The group is currently adding to and refining its repertoire, and workng to add unique elements to its live show, such as Walsh performing on saxophone and digital horn.
